     Club Night

Visitor Peter Clark from the Melbourne Rotary Club was asked to say a few words about his club.  He said one difference he noted was they no longer toasted the Queen.  He said his club was the first club established in Australia, it is a lunch club that meets at 12.45 p.m. with a meeting cost of $48!  They are currently working a project around Hepatitis and trying to make people aware there is a cure.

Peter Thomas and Bill Graetz spoke about recently deceased Rotarian, Ian Clark, who came to the Barossa in 1985 and was president of our club 1989-1990. They shared some somewhat scandalous stories (if you are a wombat) and said Ian was great fun, genuine and not afraid to ruffle feathers if he had to.  Rotarians observed a short silence and toasted Ian.
RIP Ian Clark.

John Tunnicliff gave the Treasurer's report.
President Keith Millington gave a demonstration on how to send emails through ClubRunner
Bill Simons gave the Fellowship Report and Secretary's Report.
Gavin Sidhu gave the International Report.  ($21,200 has been raised for the Ugandan Dental Project, just awaiting paperwork from Uganda.)
Keith Adams spoke about membership development, an ongoing issue for any Rotary Club.

Rotarians and Friends

The Membership Committee would like to encourage you to invite new guests along to experience the fun and fellowship that makes our Club so special.  Perhaps then plan a follow up invitation to attend a meeting to show we have a genuine interest in valued guests

                      Donations in Kind

          Saturday, October 19, 2019 from 9:30 AM - 1:30 PM

Rotary Australia Worldwide Community Service Central Region will be providing a BBQ for all those who come along to the joint district working bee at the RAWCS Donations in Kind (DIK) facility at Edinburgh on Saturday, 19th October 2019.

Rotarians and friends from all clubs in the two districts are invited to attend this working bee that nominally starts at 9:30am and the BBQ starts at Midday.

Your assistance on the day will greatly help the running of DIK, one of Rotary Australia World Community Service’s most dynamic but unsung programs.  Your help on the day will substantially complement the steadfast efforts of the DIK committee, regular volunteers and clubs that have had working bees at DIK in the past.  As well as providing constructive help to, these working bees provide Rotarians and friends the opportunity for having fun while working together on a common cause and good fellowship.

A program of priority tasks has been identified that would be a great opportunity for you and your club to get hands on international service locally.

NOTE: Turn left at the 1st roundabout on Taranaki Rd and follow the signs.
